Unfortunately I see it as inevitable when we in the west see Africa the way we do. We need to learn that throwing money at the problem doesn't always fix it and its no surprise to me that this money ended up in the pockets of the unscrupulous.
Maybe if we got creative and tried to work with the actual people on the ground in Africa we might actually get somewhere!
@ Daniel - It's hard to know who/what to believe but I would be angry, and denying it, if it were me. If he, Mr Geldof that is, has been duped then ye, he would be pissed off but if he hasn't then he'll be just as pissed off at the suggestion. Maybe he's seeing his sainthood slipping through his fingers (just being ultra-cynical there btw)
