Suicide In The Trenches

Suicide In The Trenches

I knew a simple soldier boy
Who grinned at life in empty joy,
Slept soundly through the lonesome dark,
And whistled early with the lark.

In winter trenches, cowed and glum,
With crumps and lice and lack of rum,
He put a bullet through his brain.
No one spoke of him again.

You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye
Who cheer when soldier lads march by,
Sneak home and pray you'll never know
The hell where youth and laughter go.

Hello from California!

I know this is irrelevant from this topic post, but, I had a question for you. I recently discovered the band Loop, and grabbed all three zipped folders that you have of them. I know they are password protected, but when I open them up there is no prompt for a password, therefor I can't unzip them. Could you be of any help? I do appreciate this immensely!

Hi Paul, the lack of relevance to this post is no barrier to my pleasure at receiving a comment ;) especially when it relates to somebody discovering the joys of Loop.

I followed the Sharebee link for the 'Collision (EP)' and tried the zShare download without success :( It downloaded 'something' but it was too small. I then tried the Megaupload link and that did download and unzip successfully.

Have a read of this post and see if that helps, just in case it's a compatibility issue with your zip program. (I use 7-zip)

Ok, that might be what I need to get because I am simply using the Windows Vista unzip that just shows up in the zipped folder it came in, but doesn't prompt me for a password.

And, you are completely right about Loop not coming off as 'put-on' as the Spaceman 3, I really dig that.

Are you a fan of the Telescopes?

Ye, I don't think Vista will manage the decryption Paul. Am I a fan of The Telescopes? Does a bear sh*t in the woods? :) Sadly I don't have enough of their stuff but the CD reissues should correct that if I can pick 'em up cheap on eBay (I refuse to buy anything new these days).

Hope you like the Loop stuff when you get it unpacked.

Talking of Loop Paul F, there's a recently scanned old interview with them here.
