The Brilliant Corners - Why Do You Have To Go Out With Him? (EP)

If it really were possible to legislate for stupidity then I am sure the British government, of whatever hue, would have a go at it and outlaw themselves in the process.

I mean, what do you make of this story? Its got all the elements required for a cracking piss-take of the government:

- Police women
- Women going back to work after kids
- Ofsted
- Childcare
- the Dept for Children, Schools & Families
- CRB checks
- "Childrens safety"
- Interfering busy-bodies
- Uber-regulation

But, despite all this, I am just tying myself up in knots attempting to come up with anything scathing enough.

I'll just let the story speak for itself in so many different ways.

The Brilliant Corners line-up:

Davey - Singer, Guitars
Chris - Bass
Bob - Drums
Winston - Guitars
Dan - Trumpet, Organ
Amelia - Backing Singer

So now we literally have a nanny state?
'Bureaucracy gone mad'I spluttered into my tea- but then I thought, no, this is all a part of a far more sinister trend to actually make co-operation and mutual assistance amongst the working people actually illegal.
Eroding the concept of community. Fostering dependence on the state and all of its trappings.
What a timely illustration of how distanced from the realities of everyday life these scum who set themselves up as our rulers are.

I think you give UKgov far too much credit Walker. What you suggest would take half a brain and I think if all the civil servants, politicians, appointees and other hangers on got together pooled there resources they would couldnt even come up with half of half a brain :P

Indeed, it is the tendency of clueless managers to focus on absurd distractions rather than actual issues writ large. ("The company is losing cash by the second! Hmm, maybe a new dress code will help!")

At the micro level, it's sitcom fodder. At the macro level, it empowers organizations who've already have too much discretionary power to start, while presenting the illusion that "something is being done."
