Daddy, What Does Regret Mean?

Lux Interior has died.

And I blame Iggy. First to go was Ron Asheton aged 60. Now we have had Lux Interior aged 60 (can you see where I am going with this yet?). We only need one more cool as fuck, influential music genius to bite the dust aged 60 and we have proof.

That's right - proof.

Ye Highlander you dribbling idiot, proof of what?

Proof that Iggy sold his soul to make those fucking annoying SwiftCover adverts.

Huh?

Well think about it. Ron Asheton aged 60. Lux Interior aged 60. Next punk dude aged 60. And you have 666 - the number of the corporate Beast. (With a bit of messing about with the figures obviously - which is what all those conspiracy nutters do in order to validate their bizarre proclamations). You see? It's virtually proof that the Devil exists.

Riiigghhht. Are you sleeping OK at the moment H?

I'm not actually, thanks for asking, but that doesn't detract from my water-tight Iggy-sold-his-soul-to-make-a-quick-buck-selling-insurance-for-the-Man-and-in-the-process-ensured-the-deaths-of-3-legends-aged-60 theorem. It was clearly part of the deal. And by the way, if you see your mom this weekend, be sure and tell her, SATAN, SATAN, SATAN!!

Rick Wakeman's 60 this year, and prog rock is the devil's spawn.

Just thought I'd mention it.

Actually, now I think about it - or rather google it - both Richard Hell and Tom Verlaine are turning 60 this year.

Wonder if I can find a dead pool to make a few quid?

@ Darren - You're right, Prog Rock is the Devil's spawn but Wakeman gains a couple of credibility points for moaning his way through Grumpy Old Men. But of the three you mention, I think only Verlaine would qualify for inclusion in Iggy's Satanic pact. We'll have to wait and see.

@ Anonymous - LALE is right. 'Babble' is still available via the Sharebee link in the original post. Just be sure your Zip program supports AES256 - I recommend 7Zip for all my rips.

@ LALE - Thanks for taking the time.

Highlander,

You know how much I adore you and all, but I feel it's time we had a word. A serious word. Perhaps the first "fight" in our relationship.

You see, Iggy has never, nor will he ever be in the league of Lux or Ron. Iggy was always a showman more than a genuine musician and for that reason his soul was sold ages and ages ago. This new incarnation of ads is simply the refinancing of his original mortgage on his putrid soul. Just turn your head and cough, dear. It will be over sooner than you think.

still loving you,
xoxoox,
Tart

@ tart - ye, there's a couple of flaws in my theory. First, Lux was actually 62 (but I can still crowbar in the 6 surely?) and you're right - Iggy is a showman, an influential showman, but a showman nonetheless. And I think your "refinancing" point hits the nail on the head - it's like he's extended the terms of his loan or some sh*t.

But those adverts, Jesus! In the UK they are on at every break between 'Futurama' - not just in the adverts but tacked on before and after the program with some "sponsored by" crap - aarrrgghhh. It's nearly enough (not really) to make me switch 'Futurama' off/over.

Now that I've divulged my real reason - Kiss and make up? x

Hey now- don't knock Rick Wakeman- I'm not a big fan, but I can understand why some people would like the guy's music- he is a genious in his own musical right- and you're right- The TV series spots are priceless Highander! Hope all's well.
