Although formed in Bristol in 1984 or so The Brilliant Corners really came into their own on the post-C86 appreciation of Indie Pop. Again TweeNet has the detail. They are one of the few bands whose records survived a late-80's cull as I experienced a seismic shift in taste from primarily Indie music to Goth. Amongst a number of reasons for the change (the main one being my teenage predisposition to melancholy) was a girl I was seeing - amazing the effect a woman can have on a man isn't it? She was at a private school in Edinburgh, was tall and attractive and was one of the few people to genuinely be able to describe their hair as strawberry-blonde (as opposed to ginger). It ended bitterly in 1988 (I think it was) but her effect on my music taste still resonates.
I will post the albums 'Everything I Ever Wanted' which is a compilation of early singles and their finest work 'Somebody Up There Likes Me' at some future date so treat 'Delilah Sands' as an introduction. If you enjoy the single (how could you not?) then be sure to come back for the albums as and when....

Different not bad but I prefer the tracks from the past few days.
Thanks again fordprefect - you will probably like Baby Lemonade then. Kind of like The Bachelor Pad with female vocals.
